Field Day Fun

I know growing up I always looked forward to Field Day and it's almost that time for my little sweeties too!  Just one more week before we have our Field Day.  Do you all have Field Day where you teach?  I always assumed everyone has Field Day but maybe not???

I got to looking for Field Day certificates and activities on TPT this weekend but couldn't find any that I thought would work well for my class so I got to work and created this.

There are 83 pages of fun Field Day activities and printables included.  It's only $3.00 until Wednesday.  Then it'll be $5.00.  You can check it out at my TPT store if you need some Field Day fun for you and your kiddos.

My Summer Bucket List

With summer break quickly approaching, I have lots of things I hope to cross off my bucket list this summer.

At the top of the list is not setting the alarm at all and sleeping in EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!  My girls and I are such night owls during summer break.  We stay up super late and sleep in super late.  It drives my mom crazy because she is the total opposite.

During those late nights I hope to be working on getting my classroom ready for next year.  I've already bought alot of the stuff for my room.  Now I just have to bring it to fruition.  I want it to look just like this.

If you haven't yet, check out http://www.schoolgirlstyle.com/. She has created the most absolutely adorable classrooms.

During the days, I'm hoping to spend all of our time at our local YMCA waterpark working on our tans.  We love hanging out here with my teacher friends and their kiddos.  I should probably put working out in the gym while I'm there on my bucket list but I'm just not feeling it right now even though I need to be.

We're going back to Disney this summer and I really, really want to stay at the new Animation resort.  I think it's opening in phases so it should be ready:)

What's on your bucket list for this summer?

A Blingy Mother's Day

My little sweeties have been hard at work making Mother's Day gifts.  Here's what my students' moms are getting this year.

Aren't they presh? They even got to shop at the "jewelry store" to bling out the handles.  They loved that! Inside are pages that they've filled in and illustrated.  They give such heartfelt answers in the way that only children can.

This mom is one of the lucky ones!  The ages ranged all the way from 3 to 91.  I was disheartened when I asked them how old they thought I was -- 61!  What a huge bucket dip that was!

And who doesn't love going to Chuck E. Cheese?

And just so you know moms, it's not the hugs and kisses that we give the best of.... it's all those material things that we buy them.

You'll be happy to know that some of them do appreciate the broccoli we cook for them.

We had such a fun time making our Mother's Day presents!  What did you and your little sweeties make this year to celebrate mom?

Children's Book for End of the Year

I had the most amazingly, wonderful opportunity to work with Donna Glynn of Kinderglynn on a unit based on Eric Carle's book House for Hermit Crab. She was absolutely fabulous to work with and such a blast!  I'm sure you all already know her but if not you have to go check out all of her fabulousness.

I love using books to develop themes around and House for Hermit Crab is a great children's book for the end of the year and even the beginning of the year.  It's about a little hermit crab who finds a shell (his new home) and makes friends each month throughout the book.  At the end he gets too big for his shell and has to find a new one and leave his old shell and friends behind -- just like our little students grow throughout the school year and have to move on to new class with new friends.

House for Hermit Crab

This unit is packed with 191 pages of fun activities that you and your students will love!

Freebie for Teacher Appreciation Jackpot

I'm back with my free item for the Teacher Appreciation Jackpot. I'm giving away my Popcorn Word Baseball bundle. Do you all play baseball with your kids? I never had until this year. My assistant introduced it to me and it is SO much fun! The kids absolutely love it! It's great for teaching popcorn words and makes them want to learn them so they know them for when we play the game. It's no fun at all getting an out for not knowing the word when they're up to bat. We build up and just use the words that have been taught up until that point each time we play and add any new words that have been taught in the next time. Here's the link. I hope your students love it as much as mine.

Make sure you check out all the other freebies being given away.
