Here's how those turned out.
I'm thinking they may be a little too busy once words are added to them so I tried them without the ribbon.
So whadda ya think? Do you prefer one over the other or neither at all? Maybe once I'm in my classroom they'll give me the effect I was going for but right now I'm just not sure. Maybe I'll just stick to some cute letters.
And just in case there's anything you might be able to use the letters for grab them here.
I really like them. You could always make the letter circle in the center a bit bigger if you thought they were too busy. I prefer the ones with ribbon. I think they look cute :)

I, too, prefer the ones with ribbon. The brain sees in borders, so I think if you put a border around each card that contrasts the ribbon/wall, you'll be fine; without the ribbon I think you'd need a box or some other "compartment" in which to put the words.
ReplyDeleteThe ribbons make them look just like lollipops which are super cute! Are you adding words one at a time? If so, when they don't have any words up they will look cute just being on your board. Maybe just keep the words simple and bold when you add them. Cuuuuute!

LOVE THEM! If you're going to have a colored wall to put them on, you might want to use white ribbon for the "sticks". I definitely prefer the ribbon to without.....but you could always wrap the circle in cellophane and tie the ends to look like little individual wrapped candies?:)
ReplyDeleteI like it both ways- you are very creative!

Well that's a classroom theme idea I had not thought of .... a candy themed classroom. I wonder if it would make the PK kids hungry all the time and some of my spec needs kiddos would probably try to eat them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing them . They are cute either way. I also like the idea another viewer mentioned - wrapping them in cellophane.
I vote for the ribbons as well. I think they look really cute!

Ok unless you said that was red ribbon, I would have thought something else... I thought you were using red velcro. That's how the kiddos would get and bring back the words they need and yes, make your board interactive. Then you would not have to fool w/those velco dots that always fall off. So yes, keep your word wall close to the floor so they can reach those words! Hope this helped and good luck!
