Catching Up and Sad News

Hey friends!  Sorry I haven't been around the past week.  I've been busy chauffering my girls around and we've been on the go all week.  Between hitting the Y waterpark in the mornings and making it to gymnastics practice 4 days out of the week, I haven't had a chance to sit down and tend to my little piece of bloggyland.

This weekend was such a sad one for our family.  Our sweet little dog, Bella, got off her leash and got loose and ran out under my car when I turned into our neighborhood on the way home from the grocery store.  I never could've imagined how hard it would be to lose her.  We'd had her for a little over 5 years and she was such a special little part of our family.  It's so hard to walk in the house and her not be there to run up and greet us.  I just really never thought I could get so emotional over losing a pet. She was just the sweetest little thing.

Bella

We had had Bella since my youngest daughter was 2 and she's 7 now. So for as long as she can remember Bella has always been around.  I know we won't ever be able to replace Bella but we did get a new puppy with the hope that it might make it easier for the girls.  She and Kaylee have become fast friends but she still doesn't have a name yet.  We're trying to get a feel for her personality before we name her plus we haven't all been able to agree on anything yet.

Kaylee and Dog Without a Name

I promise I'll be back with some school related ideas this week.  I've got lots of stuff I've been working on but don't have anything finished.  Don't you hate when you have a ton of things you start on and it seems like you can't get any of it finished because you've started too many things at once?  Or am I the only one who does that? It drives me crazy but I constantly do it.  Well I'm off to tend to my new baby that has no name.  Pray I get some sleep tonight.  She's worse than a newborn baby with all the crying she does at night.  Maybe this will cure my hubby of that 3rd baby he wants!

  1. Oh Amy, I am so sorry! I have some friends who lost their dog due to illness and they have been so upset. The same thing that happened to Bella happened with my Mom and one of the puppies our dog had-the one I wanted to keep. It was sad, but I am sure harder for you since you all had her for 5 years. Hopefully things will be better for your girls and family. I am just so sorry and wanted you to know!

  4. I am so sorry. We had to have one of our babies put to sleep back in the fall and it was heartbreaking. We wouldn't even stay at the house the first week. Our other baby boy had to learn how to be a dog because he just followed his sister. Now baby Butters is beyond spoiled. Enjoy the new puppy and spoil her rotten!!

  5. I know how hard it is to lose an animal (or in your case family pet). I am staying at my moms this summer while I try and get some things together. Well there is this stray cat that keeps coming up to our porch. I was beginning to get attached to it. Wanted to adopt it if it was still around when we moved and everything. Talked to the boyfriend about that today. (Remember I am not a cat person, I prefer dogs. This is just the 2nd cat I have wanted to take in.) I get back home today and the boyfriend and I find the kitten dead in the yard. My mother had accidentally ran over it. It broke my heart and make me break down into tears. I couldn't imagine what I would have done if it was one of my dogs.

I am so sorry for your loss.

  7. I am so sorry for your lose. Our fur babies become such an important part of our lives and bless us in so many ways. I pray the new little one helps ease some of the pain.
